Unica i
On the Unica i user instructions, standard central heating can be set from 40°C to 80°C. Typical target is about 55°C if the house still warms.
- Check the boiler is on at the electricity supply. If you have just switched it on, wait for the self-test to finish (about two and a half minutes on the Unica i easy user guide) before changing anything.
- Turn the mode selector to winter (heating and hot water). Summer is hot water only. Standby leaves heating and hot water off, with frost protection still active.
- Rotate the heating temperature selector clockwise to increase the heating outlet temperature, or anticlockwise to decrease it, until you reach the flow you want. The display shows the temperature values.
- Leave the hot-water temperature selector if you only came to lower the heating. That knob is domestic hot water, 37°C to 60°C.
Linea HE
Linea HE does not use the Unica i oval fascia. The controls sit behind the front cover. Push in the release button to open it. Fig. 1 in the Linea HE user instructions labels the left knob as central heating temperature control, then ON/OFF/RESET, MODE, INFO, and the hot-water temperature control on the right.
- Open the cover. Press ON/OFF if the boiler is not already on, and wait for the self-test to finish.
- Press MODE until the display shows autumn or winter. Those two modes answer heating requests. Summer and spring answer hot water only and ignore heating.
- Rotate the central heating temperature control (the left knob) to raise or lower the heating outlet temperature. The display shows the change. With no outdoor sensor fitted, the heating selector range is 20°C to 80°C.
- Leave the hot-water temperature control if you only came to lower the heating. That knob is 35°C to 60°C.
If an outdoor temperature sensor is connected, the boiler calculates the heating temperature for a 20°C room. The heating selector then only trims that by −5°C to +5°C. Look that up in the Linea HE user instructions before turning the knob a long way.
Look up your exact model on Boiler Manuals if the fascia does not match. Then return to the Vokera flow-temperature page or the Boiler Optimiser.
