Smart Thermostats have rocketed since Nest came onto the scene in the US in 2012. However once they came to the UK in 2014, the adoption rate has grown immensely.
What is a Smart Thermostat?
By definition one would say that it is a thermostat that has the ability to make decisions on it’s own using previous history and other sensor data. However a lot of consumers are also putting any thermostat that can be controlled by a smart phone app ie remotely controlled into this category too. Currently there are a few thermostats that do have intelligent and smart features, Nest,Tado and Honeywell Evohome being prime examples.
