Possible causes
- Gas valve defective (stepper or coils)
- Harness to the gas valve damaged or poorly connected
- Mass-flow sensor / Venturi problem that presents as a regulation fault
Possible solutions
- Check working inlet gas pressure. Low supply also shows as F.54 / F.28.
- Prove the gas-valve plug (often X25 on ecoTEC) and loom continuity. See F.26.
- Inspect the Venturi filter cap for wetness or blockage — same checks as F.52 / F.53.
- Replace the gas valve as a complete assembly if the electrical drive is good and regulation still fails. Combustion must be set after replacement.
