The old hub page talked about a move to sustainable energy, Tesla Powerwall calculators, and a gas-and-electric consumption calculator. The Powerwall tools were never brought across to this site, so they are not linked here. Gas and electricity use is covered by the calculators below. Practical savings sit on money and energy saving. How we heat our own office is on carbon emissions.
Find who runs the pipes and wires
Your supplier is who you pay. Your network operator owns the cables or the gas pipes. They are different companies. You need the network operator for a power cut, a new connection, or a meter move — not a bill query.
- Electricity network operator (DNO / IDNO) — Energy Networks Association postcode finder. In England, Scotland and Wales you can also call 105 in a power cut.
- Gas supplier, MPRN and transporter — findmysupplier.energy (Xoserve). If you can smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
Gas and electricity calculators
These replace the hub’s “gas and electric energy consumption” line with the live tools on this site:
- Energy breakdown — split an annual gas and electricity bill into heating, hot water, and other use
- Boiler usage cost — hours of heat and hot water to an approximate gas cost
- Gas volume m³ to kWh
- All calculators
We do not host Tesla Powerwall sizing tools. Tesla’s own product pages are the place to start if you are specifying a home battery. Do not treat third-party Powerwall calculators as a MyBoiler figure.
